SOLARNET FP7
The FP7 project “SOLARNET - High-resolution Solar Physics Network” had as a main goal the integration of all the major European infrastructures in the field of high-resolution solar physics. SOLARNET was conceived as a framework to ensure that all European solar physicists have access to state-of-the-art facilities and data archives, as well as a source for collaborations aiming at the development of tools and prototypes for innovative instruments and data processing of importance for the future operation of EST.
Networking activities, access to first-class infrastructures and joint research and development activities were carried out in SOLARNET to improve the service provided by the European solar community.
SOLARNET involved
- More than 500 solar physics researchers.
- 32 partners from 16 countries: 24 EU research institutions, 6 EU private companies, and 2 US research institutions.
The achievements of SOLARNET have significantly contributed toward the realisation of the 4.2 m European Solar Telescope.
